The Lane County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications from citizens interested in serving on the commission listed below.  This commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Board of Commissioners on a wide variety of topics and issues.  Details about the Committee and its meeting schedule and specific duties are included for your information.

LANE COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION:  This Commission makes recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners regarding comprehensive plan issues and amendments.  The Commission also advises and cooperates with other planning agencies within the state and provides reports to local government officials on problems comprehended in county, regional or metropolitan planning.  The Commission promotes public interest in and understanding of the comprehensive plan and of planning and zoning in general.

MEETINGS:  The first and third Tuesdays of each Month (additional meetings if needed).

MEMBERSHIP:  Nine (9).

VACANCIES:  Two (2); one at-large position, and one East Lane District commissioner appointed position.

GEOGRAPHIC MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS:  All applicants are required to be residents of Lane County.  For this opportunity, there is an at-large position open and an open seat for an appointment from rural Lane County as described above.  The full Planning Commission includes two positions for applicants that reside or own property west of the summit of the Coast Range to represent western Lane County, four at large positions, and five of the positions are individual appointees from each of the respective County Commissioner Districts.
